Bostik Leather Glue 20ml

Bostik Leather Glue is an ultra-strong, quick drying, clear adhesive. It's perfect for making long lasting, flexible repairs to leather or imitation leather items such as shoes, belts, or bags. 

Bostik Leather Glue is suitable for many assembly and repair applications around the home and other locations. Use to repair upholstery and fashion or decor accessories. It can also bond a wide variety of materials including metals, wood, glass, china, leather, felt, canvas, cardboard, certain fabrics, PVC and some plastics. It will bond all these materials to themselves or to each other and also plaster, stone and concrete. Follow safety directions on the pack.

Directions:

• Work on a protected area as spills can damage sensitive surfaces, such as polished, cellulose surfaces and fabrics.

• Wearing gloves is recommended. 

• Make sure all surfaces to be bonded are clean and dry, free from dust, dirt, and grease.

• When bonding leather, avoid spills onto the shiny side as a mark will be left.

Application

• To bond non-absorbent surfaces such as metal or glass, use a brush to apply a thin film of adhesive to both surfaces. Allow 5 to 10 minutes drying time and then, having correctly positioned the surfaces, press them together firmly. The bond will be instant and non-adjustable.

• If one or both surfaces are absorbent apply a generous film of adhesive to one surface only and immediately join the two surfaces together under pressure. Note: using this technique, initial bond strengths will be lower.

• Remove surplus adhesive using nail varnish remover or acetone.

About the Brand

In 1889, the Boston Blacking Company was founded in Chelsea, Massachusetts, USA.

A producer of leather colourings and dyes for the shoemaking industry, the company grew and in the 1920’s the Boston Blacking Company was established in 12 countries including Australia.

Several products were launched under the Bostik brand as early as the 1940’s, with the business taking on the Bostik company name in the 1960’s.

In 1980, Bostik was taken over, but the Bostik brand was kept as a stand-alone brand. 

In 2015 Bostik was acquired by Arkema and has been the ‘Adhesives Solutions’ segment of Arkema ever since.

Since 1889 Bostik has patented over 9,000 technologies, covering everything from aerospace interior adhesives to Blu Tack^®, growing from a local dye manufacturer to a global industry leader, and the brand has become a household name.
