Our friends at Mont Marte have done it again with another fantastic, beginner-friendly and easy to follow drawing tutorial, this time focusing on how to create portraits with graphite pencils!

This is a great introduction to creating portraits, in this case a wedding portrait, however, the tools and techniques can be applied to any type of portrait.

For this drawing tutorial you will need:

Mont Marte Sketch Pads have 25 sheets of 150gsm, acid-free, smooth textured paper.

This paper is a wonderfully versatile medium that can be used with a huge range of sketching media and craft projects.

This sketch pad’s paper is a crisp, bright white and has a very fine-toothed texture suited to graphite pencils, coloured pencils, pens, charcoal, soft pastels, hard pastels, oil pastels and more!

The sheets are tape bound which makes removing them quick and easy.

The sheets are also supported by a 2mm thick backing board.

Mont Marte Sketch Pads give a helping hand to the beginner artist with practical drawing tips on the inside cover.

Available in A3, A4, A5

This Mont Marte high-quality drawing set contains 6 grades of graphite pencils, an eraser and a metal sharpener.

These smooth graphite pencils are beautiful to use for quick sketch techniques, as well as more detailed work.

Variation in pencil grade allows a great variety of tonal marks to be achieved, each blending seamlessly into the other.

The Mont Marte Electric eraser makes precision erasing so easy and efficient. Just hold down the eraser button and let the rubber end do all the work. Great for precision work like erasing highlights or erasing larger areas.
